Some one shared this with me now I share it with you.
TAKE A MINUTE AWAY FROM WORK, AND READ THIS PASSAGE, I FOUND IT BROWSING THE INTERNET. I THINK THIS OUTLINES EVERYTHING WE NAVAJOS DO IN THIS DAY-N-AGE. WHEN ALL THINGS COME TO AN END
NAVAJO ARMAGEDDON PROPHECY
The birds will all settle to the ground; the badger will grow horns, the wind will blow without ceasing; the people will intermarry with other tribes as well as within clans; there will be voices, but they will be too weak for many to hear; the enemy will penetrate the stronghold of The People, the Navajo. And this will be when all things come to an end, when all generations come to meet.
But first, four major events will occur; A mule will give birth of its own kind; a baby with white hair and with teeth will be born speaking; there will be a famine and many will suffer; lightning will whip across the sky from the east to the west. These things will be signs that all things are coming to an end.
It has been told that a mule did give birth to its own kind some fifty years ago. In the early sixties, there was excited reaction to the news that a baby with white hair and with teeth had been born among The People. No famine has yet occurred; neither has the lightning flashed across the sky.
Old men and women who foresaw the future taught their children to hold on to their traditions and not forsake their religion, for the day was coming when they would lose it if they were not careful.
The People#8212; The Navajos#8212; are strong, and none will overcome us. We will lose our strength only through our failure to maintain our traditions, he said. He spoke of times when the young will not listen to the old ones and will marry who they choose without consideration for the law of the clan, established from the beginning.
Navajo prophesy state that the medicine bag will no longer have strength as in the past, there will be no regard for it, and it will be thrown away. The People will be lost without its presence, and they will have no power against the enemy.
In the beginning, when all laws were established, certain characteristics were given to The People that made them unique from all other people who were called enemy. There were special qualities in the Navajos#8217; drums and baskets, prayer sticks and bags, songs and medicine, and in their sacred places where they went to worship. These things were given to The People, and they were to follow no other way.
Today The People no longer hold to the path that was given to them. They have divided themselves in search of #8220; better#8221; things for their own gain and in the process have lost and forgotten many of their traditions that made them Navajos.
I remember the warning against the enemy penetrating the stronghold of The People#8212; the Navajo religion. THE NAVAJO HAVE ACCEPTED IDEAS AND RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OF OTHER TRIBES, NOT REALIZING THEY ARE LOSING THEIR OWN BELIEFS. MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE IN THEIR POSSESSION RELIGIOUS RELICS FROM OTHER TRIBES, AND THEY CALL THESE THEIR OWN. This is what the wise ones spoke against, but no one seems to remember these warnings of yesteryear; for those that have spoken are gone, and their words are being swept away in the swirling winds of time. And no one wants to remember.
